YOUR RATING IS LIVE

YOUR DPR IS HERE

You now have a Deaf Pickleball Rating based on your tournament matches. Here's what it means, why it's early, and what comes next.

WHAT IS DPR?

DPR is a community-owned rating system built specifically for Deaf pickleball players. It uses the same ELO-based math used in chess, tennis, and professional pickleball — but tailored for our community.

Unlike a simple win-loss record, DPR measures how well you played:

Beat a stronger opponent?

You gain more points than expected.

Lose to a top player?

You barely lose anything. The system knows it was a tough matchup.

Win by a huge margin?

Dominant play is rewarded. Every point matters.

YOUR RATING IS EARLY — AND THAT'S OKAY

Right now, your DPR is based on one tournament. That means:

1

Your rating will change.

One tournament is a snapshot, not a verdict. As more tournaments get added, your rating settles into a more accurate reflection of your skill.

2

Some ratings look high or low.

A player who went 7-0 in round robin will look strong. A player who had a tough bracket will look lower. This evens out over time with more data.

N

The "NEW" badge means your rating is provisional.

Players with fewer than 10 matches are still calibrating. Your rating will shift more with each match until you hit 10+.

This is exactly how every rating system works — DUPR, chess ELO, FIFA rankings. The first few data points are noisy. The signal gets clearer with every tournament.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

We're actively importing data from upcoming tournaments. The more events that feed into DPR, the more reliable every player's rating becomes. Here's what we need from you:

Check your profile.

Search for your name on the rankings page. Make sure your match history looks correct.

Keep competing.

Every verified match makes your rating — and everyone else's — more accurate.

Spread the word.

Share your DPR with your pickleball crew. The more players in the system, the better the ratings work for everyone.

WHY NOT JUST USE DUPR?

DUPR is great for the hearing world. But DPR is built by and for the Deaf pickleball community:

Community-governed

Not corporate-owned. Every decision is made with Deaf athletes in mind.

Transparent ratings

We explain how every rating change works in plain English. No black box.

All Deaf formats

Tracks Skinny and Scrambler — formats the Deaf community plays that DUPR doesn't rate.

DUPR compatible

Your DUPR can be linked to your DPR profile for reference. Both systems, one identity.
