TERMS OF SERVICE
Last updated: April 12, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Deaf Pickleball Ratings ("DPR") at deafpickleballratings.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. DPR is operated by PickleUnlimited ("we", "us", "our").
2. Description of Service
DPR provides pickleball skill ratings for the Deaf pickleball community. We calculate ratings based on verified match results from sanctioned tournaments and events. Ratings are displayed publicly on player profiles and leaderboards.
3. Accounts
You may create an account using your email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Your account provides access to DPR and may also be used across other PickleUnlimited products (Deaf Pickleball Brackets, Deaf Pickleball League). You must provide accurate information and keep it current.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Submit false or misleading match data
- Attempt to manipulate ratings through collusion or fake matches
- Access other users' accounts without authorization
- Use automated tools to scrape data without an approved API key
- Interfere with the operation of the service
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users
5. Ratings and Data
Ratings are calculated algorithmically from verified match results. We strive for accuracy but do not guarantee that ratings perfectly reflect skill level. Ratings may change when new match data is imported or when the algorithm is updated. Match data submitted to DPR may be shared with partner organizations (such as DUPR) with your consent.
6. Partner API
Access to the DPR Partner API requires a manually approved API key. API keys are non-transferable and may be revoked at any time. Rate limits apply. Unauthorized API access is prohibited.
7. Privacy
Your use of DPR is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
8. Intellectual Property and Your Data Rights
The DPR rating system, algorithms, design, and content are owned by PickleUnlimited.
Your profile data — name, contact info, bio, photo — is yours. You may request an export of your data at any time. If you wish to leave the rating system, you may choose one of two options (you cannot have both — they are different intensities of the same decision):
- Close account (soft exit) — your account is closed, contact information is removed, but your name remains attached to your match history. You stay visible on leaderboards and in search.
- Anonymize (hard exit)— everything in “Close account”, AND your name is replaced with “Removed Player” everywhere it appears in DPR. You are removed from leaderboards and search. On each match where your name was replaced, DPR surfaces the verification source URL so anyone can confirm the match was real, independent of DPR.
Verified match results are part of the official Deaf pickleball tournament record— similar to how chess and tennis preserve historical match records. Under either option, your matches remain in the system to preserve the rating accuracy of the players you played with and against. The difference between the options is what shows on those matches: your real name (Close account) or “Removed Player” with the verification URL (Anonymize).
If you believe a specific match was incorrectly attributed to you, contact us — we will investigate against the public tournament record and correct genuine errors.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may request account closure at any time by contacting us. Upon closure, your profile will be deactivated and personal details (email, phone, address) removed. Match records and rating contributions are retained to preserve rating integrity for all players in the community — your matches affect other players' ratings and cannot be removed without distorting the system. See our Privacy Policy for details.
10. Limitation of Liability
DPR is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (if any).
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of DPR after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify registered users of material changes via email.
